Overview

Welcome to the NQCC’s third UK Quantum Hackathon!

Please register your interest in participating in the hackathon through this form. The hackathon will be held at the University of Warwick from 22 to 24 July 2024. Successful applicants will receive food and accommodation during the hackathon, and travel bursaries will also be available for travel within the UK. This form is for individual applicants; you will be allocated a team closer to the hackathon. If your application is successful, you will be contacted using the details you provide in this form.

Places are limited and will be allocated according to the following criteria:

  1. UK-based: Applicants must be students at UK universities or UK residents.
  2. Age: Applicants must be over the age of 18 to take part in the hackathon.
  3. Skill level: Teams will be created with balanced skills based on advanced, intermediate and beginner.
  4. Motivation: applicants are asked to provide a short statement outlining their motivation for taking part in the hackathon. This will be considered when allocating places.
  5. Spaces: After considering criteria 1-3, places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Applications close on 31 May 2024. Use case announcements, applicant selection, and team allocation will take place after this.

The hackathon is part of the NQCC’s SparQ programme, aimed at exploring and raising awareness of the current capabilities and limitations of quantum computing technology, as well as nurturing the talent pipeline and convening stakeholders. The hackathon provides students and researchers an opportunity to tackle real-world problems set by user organisations. There will be prizes for the top three teams, as determined by a panel of judges. Information on the 2023 hackathon can be found here: https://www.nqcc.ac.uk/uk-quantum-hackathon-2023/
