MSCA UK30: Curiosity That Crosses Borders Event Registration

'MSCA UK30 - Curiosity that crosses borders' is a two-day, in-person event at the Royal Society, London (20th-21st October 2026) celebrating 30 years of MSCA International Talent, Mobility, Collaboration and Impact.

This event is designed to bring together the UK's MSCA community - current and former EU and Guarantee funded awardees, industry partners, research managers, host institutions, policy makers and MCAA representatives - to celebrate 30 years of curiosity-driven international research careers.

Over the 2 day event, there will be sessions structured around three core themes:

• Curiosity Collaborates - building partnerships that cross borders
• Curiosity Exchanges - keeping researchers moving across disciplines, sectors and countries
• Curiosity Leads - using international curiosity to shape future leaders

Day 1: Celebrating 30 years of research talent. The question shaping the day is 'what has curiosity made possible for people and careers when research crosses borders?'

Sessions may include:

• Keynote: How MSCA has supported and encouraged scientific curiosity over 30 years with Carsten Welsch
• 30 years of international research talent: what MSCA Makes Possible?
• In Conversation with Professor Emily Shuckburgh CBE - reflections of a former fellow
• Lightning Talks: Voices of MSCA
• Creating Conditions for Discovery

Day 2: Curiosity that leads. The question shaping the day is 'what does curiosity build - for institutions, for the field, for the researchers who come next?'

Sessions may include:

• Keynote: International Collaboration in a Changing World
• From Individual Fellowships to Research Ecosystems
• Five questions that could only be answered abroad - mid and senior career researchers
• What Curious Researchers Build When They Lead
• Policy conversation: Future of International Research Mobility

Delivered by UK Research and Innovation.

Please note that attendance will be based on a first come first serve basis, but we will try to balance the attendees across various institutions if required. If maximum capacity is reached, we will contact you if any spaces become available.
