STFC Technical Skills Survey 2025

Overview

STFC are looking to build our understanding of the technical skills landscape in the UK. We would like to gather input from the STFC community on the technical skills that are present in the UK and which may be required in the future, as well as on any challenges in accessing those skills. We encourage responses from all elements of the community, but particularly from research technical professionals and academic researchers. 

This survey will form part of a review of technical skills within STFC’s remit in the UK – detailed feedback will ensure we have a more accurate picture. Technical skills should here be understood to encompass all engineering, scientific and computational skills relevant to STFC’s remit.

Data collected via this survey will be presented to the STFC PPAN Science Board, but will be anonymised prior to sharing. If you would be happy to be contacted with follow-up questions, please provide your email address when requested.
