MRC Survey on Public Involvement in Research

Closed 27 May 2022

Opened 6 May 2022

Overview

The Medical Research Council (MRC) values the role of patients and the public in research and we have commissioned a public involvement review to inform the development of our new strategy.

Please tell us what is important to you by taking part in this survey, which is open to all MRC staff and funded researchers and members of the public.

By public involvement, we mean all the ways in which the research community works together with people including: patients, carers, advocates, service users, members of the community. “Excellent public involvement is inclusive, values all contributions, ensures people have a meaningful say in what happens and influences outcomes." https://www.ukri.org/news/shared-commitment-to-improve-public-involvement-in-research/

What happens next

This survey is anonymous. To help develop our understanding for purposes of the review and for monitoring purposes, we would be grateful if you could complete all the questions including the demographic questions. This supports our broader commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

This review ends in June 2022 and we will be announcing the next steps in the autumn. Results from this survey will be posted on the UKRI Engagement Hub.

To make the survey accessible and easy to complete there are separate questions for MRC staff and funded staff and public contributors, you can see a full list of all the questions for both groups here
