Visa Advisory Board - apply to join

Closes 7 Aug 2025

Opened 10 Jul 2025

Overview

UKRI are recruiting members to join the new Visa Advisory Board.

The Visa Advisory Board has a remit of supporting both the Global Talent visa and Government Authorised Exchange visa schemes run by UKRI.

By joining the Board, you will have the opportunity to help UKRI shape the development of:

  • the Global Talent visa (GTV) endorsed funder route
  • the Science, Research, and Academia (SRA) and Future Technology Research and Innovation (FTRI) Government Authorised Exchange schemes

This Visa Advisory Board replaces the Global Talent Visa External Advisory Board which operated until July 2025.

We are seeking two new members for the Visa Advisory Board, to join alongside members of the former Global Talent Visa External Advisory Board.

We particularly welcome applications from representatives of public sector research establishments (PSREs), independent research organisations (IROs), and research-intensive UK businesses. This is to ensure representation from across the sector, including the different types of research organisations that may benefit from the Government Authorised Exchange schemes.
