Global Talent visa - Nominate a funder for endorsement 2024

Closes 20 Dec 2024

Opened 13 Feb 2024

Overview

The Global Talent visa is an immigration route provided by the UK Government to give a fast and efficient visa offer to those working in science and research. UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is an endorsing body for the Global Talent visa. As an endorsing body, UKRI can recognise other funding organisations as endorsed funders.

We are looking for nominations of research & innovation funders in the UK, as well as international research & innovation funders that fund or co-fund work in the UK.

You can see the current list of UKRI endorsed funders here.

Endorsed funders play no role in the visa process itself. When an applicant is applying to UKRI for visa endorsement, they will simply submit a copy of the grant award from the endorsed funder to confirm their eligibility for the scheme.

Please note that this nomination is the first step in the process to becoming an endorsed funder and does not confer any obligation on the part of UKRI to take a nomination forward.

To become an endorsed funder, nominated funders will be required to complete a due diligence process.

Why your views matter

UKRI is the UK's largest public funder of research. We are seeking input on additional funding organisations that we should recognise as endorsed funders under the Global Talent visa.

We are looking to increase the number of endorsed funders to open up more opportunities for talented people to pursue their career ambitions within the UK’s research & innovation system.

Anyone is able to submit a nomination.
