Global Talent visa - Nominate a funder for endorsement

Overview

The Global Talent visa is a UK immigration route to provide a fast and efficient visa offer to those working in science and research.

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is an endorsing body for the Global Talent visa (GTV). As an endorsing body, UKRI can recognise other funding organisations as endorsed funders.

We are looking for nominations of both UK and international research and innovation funders to become endorsed funders.

You can see the current list of UKRI endorsed funders here.

Once nominated, organisations looking to become an endorsed funder will be required to complete a due diligence process. To pass this due diligence process, the nominated organisation will need to provide UKRI with the following satisfactory documentation:

  • Published research strategy
  • Track record of R&I funding in the UK
  • Peer review standards
  • Internal audit report on grant management
  • Organogram of key roles
  • Evidence of good financial health
  • Conflict of interest policy
  • Counter-fraud, corruption and bribery policy
  • EDI policy
  • Research integrity/ ethics policy
  • Safeguarding policy
  • Charity Commission status, if applicable
  • Any fraud investigation reports within the last 3 years, if applicable

UKRI will follow up on the nomination to request this information from the funder.

Please note that a nomination is the first step in the process to becoming an endorsed funder and UKRI can not guarantee that a nomination will be successful.

Why your views matter

UKRI is the UK's largest public funder of research. We are seeking input on additional funding organisations that we should recognise as endorsed funders under the Global Talent visa.

We are looking to increase the number of endorsed funders to open up more opportunities for talented people to pursue their career ambitions within the UK’s research & innovation system.

Anyone can submit a nomination.
