SAT/SETB recruitment 2025 for 2026 start
Overview
This year, EPSRC is welcoming applicants for vacancies on EPSRC’s Science, Engineering and Technology Board (SETB) and on our Strategic Advisory Teams (SATs) for the following Themes:
- Resilience and Security
- Clean Energy
- Engineering
- Healthcare
- Information Communication Technologies
- Research Infrastructure
- Sustainable Manufacturing
- Mathematical Sciences
- Physical Sciences

We are seeking applications from individuals with experience in either academia, industry, users of research, or in the third sector and government organisations. Appointments will start on 1 April 2026. Submission of applications for the vacancies opens on the 8 September 2025 and closes at 16:00 07 November 2025. Please ensure that your application has been submitted before this time.
We welcome applications from people based in all regions and nations of the UK, and from those who are in full-time or part-time work, or on sabbatical or a career break.
Members of both advisory bodies are not required to act as representatives of their own organisation, research area or sector, but rather as someone who is able to contribute on a non-affiliated basis and act as ‘general generalists’. All members are expected to adhere to the Seven Principles of Public Life.
Members of EPSRC advisory bodies are paid a daily fee and reimbursed for appropriate travel and subsistence for attendance at meetings. EPSRC may host meetings physically, virtually or facilitate a mixed attendance meeting (physical and virtual attendance).
Initial appointments will usually be for two years, with extensions at the discretion of the EPSRC.
