Annual Monitoring Survey for DTPs 2024/25

Closes 20 Jan 2026

SECTION 3: DTP IMPACTS

EPSRC is interested to learn about any success stories and impacts arising from your DTP. Student outcomes will be captured in Researchfish, but the wider effects of your DTP as an award within your institution, on your partner organisations and local/national community may not be adequately represented. In this section we would like to hear about any such impacts.

1. Please provide details of any impacts for your DTP to arise in the 2024/25 academic year
2. To help us showcase the outcomes and wider impact of the grant, please consider providing up to two of your best case studies. These should be recent but do not need to be from the 2024-25 academic year. When writing your case study, please ensure you focus on a clear narrative that includes: The challenge or problem that was addressed; The solution or intervention that your team developed; The tangible outcome or impact. We are not prescriptive about what the focus should be, but examples include: Commercialisation of doctoral research: prototypes and new technologies, proof of concepts, spinouts etc. Diverse career paths: students from backgrounds and career paths underrepresented in doctoral study, or pursuing different career paths after doctoral study. Economic impacts: significant cost savings or increased revenue based on doctoral research outcomes. Novel impactful approaches to delivering doctoral training. Policy impacts at international, national, regional or local level. Social and cultural impact, including public engagement.
3. With your permission, we may use your case study for our website, publications, or with other key stakeholders. Please indicate your preference below:
