Definitions

Benefits – Measurable improvements, on the pathway to deeper long-term impacts. This is a signpost to impacts the project, programme or activity will ultimately produce, potentially after the lifetime of AHRC’s intervention.

Impacts – The ultimate result to which a project, programme or activity contributes. Planned or unplanned, impact is defined as a measurable or evidenced positive effect on identified domains, including society, the economy and knowledge production.

What we’re not looking for as part of this activity:

  • Methodology. Except where it’s about cocreation or innovative collaborations
  • Workshops and meetings. Except where a massive attendance can be evidenced or it has delivered a major outcome, benefit, or impact
  • Academic publications. We can quickly draw these from ResearchFish and usually wouldn’t include them in an impact story.
