AHRC Connected Communities Impact Survey

Closes 31 Oct 2024

Opened 29 Jul 2024

Overview

We are coming out to the people we supported through the Connected Communities programme to make sure we're aware of all the amazing impacts they have achieved. Five years on from the official end of the programme and as we pick up our engagement with the new government, we're aware that new benefits and impacts may have emerged that are not reflected in Research Fish and other existing records. We are keen to capture these and ensure we are appropriately reflecting the full range of benefits and impacts this important programme delivered.

Why your views matter

AHRC regularly has to demonstrate the positive value and impact of the research we fund for the economy and society. This is for a variety of purposes from internal reporting to engagement with senior stakeholders and even to support our responses to the spending reviews which define our future budgets.

In order to do this we draw together information on the projects we have funded from a variety of sources, including the people involved, and use this to develop one or more short, punchy impact stories. These are around 50-100 words and are written with a specific purpose and audience in mind, based on the information we have pulled together. We have to keep them short because space is often restricted and we have to cover multiple benefits and impacts across various programmes and individual projects. However, it is useful for us to have a broader base of information in order to write the stories effectively.

Providing the information requested in this survey will enable us to quickly and effectively respond to internal and external requests to demonstrate the value of what we fund and arts and humanities research more broadly.

We know that with programmes like Connected Communities it can take time for impacts to emerge or be fully realised. That is why, as we pick up our conversations with stakeholders in the light of the new government, we are coming back to the Connected Communities programme to further map its impact.

Where you had multiple, interconnected projects funded by AHRC you are welcome to submit a single response.
