CoSTAR Lab Visitor Survey

Overview

This survey is intended to provide insight on how the facilities funded by the CoSTAR programme are being used and by whom. It will ask a few brief questions about you, your organisation and the purpose of your visit, as well as some additional questions to monitor environmental sustainability and equality, diversity and inclusion.

Why do we ask for this information and for what do we use it?

CoSTAR receives public funding from AHRC, as part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). We collect data on equality and diversity from all applicants for grants, awards and users of our funded programmes. It helps us assess how effective our policies and procedures are, in eliminating unlawful discrimination and promoting equal opportunities. We may use this information anonymously for statistical purposes and, in this case, it will be shared with our external evaluators and the CoSTAR labs in anonymised form.

Your data will be treated in confidence, securely protected and in line with UKRI’s data protection procedures. It will NOT be used in the assessment of any future funding applications.

You do not have to complete this survey and can choose to only disclose the information you want. However, by answering each question, you will be helping us to monitor equality of opportunity for all.

About your data

All personal data collected in this survey will be used in accordance with our notifications. UKRI, the CoSTAR Network and our external evaluators will use this data for statistical analysis; in relation to the evaluation of research, the study of trends and to inform policy and strategy studies.
 
By providing this information about yourself, you agree to it being processed in this way and stored on our associated internal systems, in line with fulfilling our public task responsibilities under UK data protection legislation. 

Your data will only be reported in anonymous aggregated forms and will always be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and therefore also in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Why your views matter

As an unprecedented publicly funded programme, it is vital we understand as much as possible about the use, impacts and benefits of these facilities. The information you provide will take 5-10 minutes to complete and will play an important role in assessing the programme and shaping future public investment in research and development.
