Design Generator Community Consultation
Overview
The Design Generators have been allocated £2 million over a 2.5-year period ending in 27/28. This would be structured as two cohorts over two years; five projects would be funded per year with each receiving £200k. The Design Generators would operate like a ‘catalyst’ responsive mode grant but with the focus on design for the green transition.
The aim of the call would be to fund innovative, design led research projects that contribute to the green transition. The call would be quite broad and would seek to generate new arts and humanities-based approaches and methodologies that harness design to address environmental sustainability, decarbonisation, circular economies, policy design and regenerative practices.
Awards would promote interdisciplinary collaboration across academia, with at least 50% within A&H remit. We would adopt the principle that projects must clearly articulate how the funding will contribute to the development of all those involved through the way that the project has been designed and will be managed, with appropriate support structures in place.
